Full synopsis
Adapted from Giles Foden's novel, the film presents Idi Amin's dictatorship through Nicholas Garrigan, a fictional Scottish doctor who moves to Uganda after medical school. Initially captivated by the new leader's charisma, Garrigan becomes his personal physician before confronting the violence, paranoia and political crimes of the regime.
